Does anyone know how to get iron stains out of clothing?

Our water has high iron content and lately every time I've done laundry, my clothes, especially my whites, come out looking dirtier than when they went in the wash! They have a reddish-brown dingy tint to them. What can I do? I can't exactly bleach my colored clothes that are stained....any tips? Thanks!

I get rust stains on my work clothes (basically the same as iron stains from high iron content water) and this is a great tip I found to get the clothes clean, "The safest and best way to remove is rust is rhubarb. Cut rhubarb stalks into one inch pieces and put in a pot of water. When it comes to a rolling boil, turn off the heat and let sit 10 minutes. put mixture through sieve. Toss rhubarb. soak rust stained fabric in solution for 1 hour to overnight depending on amount of rust. Works well either warm or cold. Launder item as usual. Works every time on any washable fabric."

I found this and other tips on this site.
