HELP! how do you get beeswax (from a candle) off a hardwood floor?

it's splattered all over in tiny droplets...i need to get it off (we're moving), but not ruin the floor 9we're renting!). thanks

Answers:
ice on the wax first, then use a PLASTIC spatula... (put it in the freezer for a little bit before doing this) scrape up the wax gently and vaccum up the pieces. if you scratch the floor try and match a crayon to the finish and fill it in and buff.

good luck!!

DONT USE THE IRON ON THE FLOOR it can damage the finish and raise the grain!!! no fix for that

Other answers:
take a straight edge razor or sharp knife and go along at one side and just pop it under one end of the wax- the rest should just pop off on its own. it should be easy but if not put an ice cube on it to freeze the wax solid so it will come off in one bit

Use a sharp object
Try placing wax paper on top of the wax, then heating the paper and wax with an iron. Then pull the paper and wax off.
Try using a warm iron and paper towel. It will melt the wax and the towel will soak it up
Take a paper towel and put it over the wax. Then take a nice warm iron(like the kind you do your clothes with)And "iron"The paper towel. It should come right up. Peace.
1) Wet the area
2) scrap the area carfully either with a knife
3) vingear works wonders to get things off hardwood floors, I use it all the time, spray that on whats left and mop it up with a rag and it should be as good as new
You can also try putting an ice cube in a wash cloth and hold it over the wax then pop it off with your finger nail, wipe up any drippings from the ice cube...
Brown paper bag over the wax. Use an iron on low heat and iron the bag. The bag will soak up the wax.
