what is a good way to clean out and air out a matress?

my 2 year old daughter had a "accident" in my 10 year olds bed, I've always heard of people cleaning a matress but never knew the process...some help please!

Answers:
Remove the linens, take a cup of boax and make a paste with water to remove obvious stains. It will break down the odor causing elements of the stains without leaving a residue. Sprinkle borax over the surface of the mattress and leave it for as long as you can. Vacuum up the dried paste and sprinkled borax. Borax will eliminate odors caused by almost any human accident. Finally, disinfect the mattress with either Lysol or other disinfectant made for fabric.

beat it with baseball bat. that gets the dust out
your best bet is probably to take it outside and spray it down with a "Febreeze" product. Febreeze is pretty amazing at removing these kinds of funk.
Put the mattress in the sun after spraying it with Febreze.
It depends where you live.If you live in a humid climate (like florida as where I live) do not put it outside.Your best bet is to get a dehumidifier.First spray some Fabreeze with "antimicrobial" funcal disifectant,on both sides of the matress. Turn the matress on it's side and remove all the linens.Place your dehumidifier in the same room and turn it to the driest setting.Close the door and give it a couple of hours or overnight. You can also use PEE BE GONE at any local pet store too
