how can I stretch out shirts that I already dried in the drier. now they are too small.?
Answers:
After you've washed the shirt in the washing machine, place it on a hanger while it's still wet. Begin stretching it methodically around the edges. This will serve the dual purpose of smoothing out the wrinkles and stretching the fabric. Hang it somewhere to dry, give it a final pull on the edges all the way around, and see how stretched it is the next morning. Generally works for me.
Other answers:
Throw them away and buy new ones.
Throw them away and buy new ones.
Give them to someone who has kids...
or use them for rags. Those are your choices...
You can get a wash cloth and an iron and "wet press" the shirt; put the wash cloth in water and wring it out; then put it over the shirt and the iron on top of it. Alot of steam will come out and when you lift up the iron, stretch the material. I may not work; some fabrics once dried are shrunk forever. But it's worth a try.
you can't do anything about it now. Hang dry them in the future and iron when dry to get wrinkles out.
Put 'em on . . . your gut will stretch 'em out . . .
I had wondered the same thing.......my cousin let me in on the secret. This works well with cotton t shirts.
1. put on the shirt (it may be really snug, but just do it)
2. ask a friend to stand behind you, and hold firmly onto the shirt
3. RUN! (make a forward motion)
this will stretch your shirt. It has always worked for me :)
stretch it after you wash it and let it air dry ( no dryer)
Try re -washing them and kind of stretch them back to shape and hang dry them.maybe that will work.
GIVE TO GOODWILL IF THEY ARE DECENT
Wash them again and lay them flat!
I have heard if you soak them in fabric softener and lay them out it will bring them back to shape
Rewash it in cold water, while it's still damp put it on and stretch it out til its comfortable for you, then hang it dry.
Squeeze into in, then stretch it over you knees.
Get it wet again then put it back on and let it dry on you.
wash them again, while they are still wet stretch away. Let it day naturally....
depends on the content of the fabric....if they are 100% cotton, give up......with spandex in them I have accidentally dried them before.....so I then wash again in machine and hang up wet on a good sturdy plastic hanger...........with lots of steam in the iron, I can usually stretch them out again. Also, don't forget that if you LOVE these shirts that you have shrunk, I just put a tank on underneath the shirt and let the shirt be small.......and not button at all!
Rewash them and hang them to dry. If they are 100% cotton, good luck.
your out of luck with them hon, you should have read the lables on them before you washed & dried them they would have said what water temp to wash them in & if they could be put in the drier or not.
Too Late!
Just look how much you've grown:)
pass the shirts to a friend. too small for you now.
