No, you need to get a turn of the century steam roller and drive over your clothes in the street. Much more satisfying!

You can't always get what you want with these fancy new irons. They're great when they work but don't offer very much without the steam function. I'd take it back and swap it for a better brand name like tefal or europro..! I work with ironing everyday and the only real advantage of a steam generated iron is the vertical ironing function... Great for curtains or when you just want to smooth out a jacket, slacks ect while being worn.
