I've always thought the washer eats it. Like when it starts spinning they slip over the edge and into the washer.
bcuz they the smallest clothin
and r hard to find after laundry
they're so small and can get dropped at any point along thw ashing cycle!
There is another dimension inside of everyone's dryer that sucks up one half of at least one pair of socks each time you do the laundry :)
We don't lose them - they just end up in the same place all the bic pens are.
I'M STARTING TO THINK THAT MY DRYER IS POSSESSED BECAUSE IT NEVER GIVES ME BACK ALL OF MY SOCKS. MAYBE IT'S HUNGRY, I DON'T KNOW
Aaarrrrrrgggggghhh don't mention the sock monster lol
they take mine too
I know!

They're so small by the time to carry them to the washer and take them out again you've prob dropped at least one! So when you've dried them and sorted them it looks likes its gone. I swear if you trace your laundry steps you'll find that little boyo.

Either that of you've got a really weird stalkers who's stealing them from your washing line.
It's the dryers secret bounty! He must have socks to pay the oarsman to cross the river Styx at his death.
coz one of your neighbour nicks them to p*** you off
Oddly enough, i'm allways finding them.
Have you been doing your washing in my machine.
There is a family of gremlins which live in the plumbing of every washing machine. Every time you wash socks, they take at least one. They like to take different kinds for use in their nest. If you put the socks into a net bag before you wash them, there is slightly less chance of the gremlins stealing them as there is a risk of getting trapped and caught by you.
Lose, not loose.
Socks actually can go over the edge of the tub on some machines. We had one end up in the pump. We were told not to overload the machine. I also put small items in a lingerie bag or pin the toes of socks together. When I want to wear the socks I move the little safety pin to the top of one of the socks. I don't lose socks anymore.
it's funny that it happens to everyone though.........
put them in an old pair of tights and tie the top
u wont lose any more
Because they are easily lost - that really annoys me!! i have barely any pairs left and i keep buying new ones!
God knows but we do, I used to work in a factory were socks were made, guys used to press them into shape on special pressing machines and put exactly 25 dozen on a board, but you always, always had a spare one after pairing them together, so we used to bring those spare ones home with us to make up the odd ones in our drawers at home into pairs and guess what the damn things had disappeared from the drawer, I reckon there are a lot of one legged sock monsters on the lose out there.
Its a mystery to me.Sometimes they stick to other clothes
