My Dr tells me I have bed bug bites. How can I tell if they are in my bed & how do I get rid of them?

Answers:
They are acarus or acarum, microscopic spiders that eat skin flakes, go to sears and ask for bed sheets anti-acarus, keep humidity level down and get rid of all your carpets

Other answers:
just wash your sheets anyway. my friend had lice and she used this spray tht you spray anywhere and it kills lice, ticks, and fleas. im sure they will kill w.e bug u have a problem with.

How many different beds have you been sleeping in? I would treat my bed and home for bed bugs and do NOT sleep in any other beds. See if that helps.
everyone has bedbugs
Try a plastic sheet under your bedsheets
buy a new mattress
fumigate
bedbugs eat dead skin cells....curious why they are attacking your live ones
First off would be to wash your sheets at least once a year if not doing so already... you can't physically see them if they do exist they would be in the fabrics... you need to wash the sheets and blankets and delouse the bed with ammonia...
I looked up these two sites for you. You can find many more using something like Google. Good luck!
They will be in the corners of your mattress. and deep down inside.... the only way you will be able to get rid of them is to get youir house fumigated and get rid of your mattresses. Wash your sheets in hot hot water or burn them and buy new ones to be on the safe side. and don't sleep in any bed but yours after you have taken care of your problem.... Its not cheap to get rid of them.
i saw a special once about hotel travel. have you been in any hotels lately? that is usually where people pick them up. they get into your clothes and your suitcases. if it's just recent, you might be able to get away with getting a new matress and sheets and getting rid of everything you traveled with.

one woman on the special had to fumigate, tear out all her carpets, get rid of her clothes, that bugs had pretty much taken over her house. i would do some research and talk to your dr. some more.
If you have bed bugs you should dispose of the mattress set you have right away. That means pillows, blankets, comforters, bed skirts... Sheets can be rid of them by boiling or insecticide, they bugs hide in the seams of the cloth.
Good luck!!
What you need to do is wash your sheets every week or at least go buy some extra sheets. Make sure you wash your sheets in warm water or even hot depending on the color of the sheets. You may also want to check into buying a new mattress too...
wash everything on the bed and get an anti-allergen or plastic cover for your bed. they're most likely living in the mattress, but washing everything else will help as well.
you should clean your sheets once a week, in hot water and a bleach. then vaccumm your floor every week to remove the dead skin cells that fall off the bed when you sleep which bed bugs feed on.
HELLO, Bedbugs and Dust mites are VERY different. Some of the answers refer to tiny dust mites that in dead eat dead skin cells. Yes, we all have those!
Bed Bugs are a horrid scourge that has resurfaced in country for 2 reasons.
1. Now the pesticides used for ant, roaches, and termites are no longer broad spectrum killers. This way only the target insect dies. That does not include BEDBUGS!
2. Europe has a huge bedbug problem and because of the weakening U.S. dollar we now have a huge influx of European travelers and their Bedbugs!
You MUST FIND AN an exterminator for your health sake. Those bites can get you infected and make you very sick!
I just recently saw on CNN a report about bedbugs and saw some of the bodies of the bitten people! The sores were horrible!
Let me repeat, YOU NEED AN EXTERMINATOR!
I would spray around the bed with a good insectide that is safe for indoor use. I am sure you wash and change your sheets. Do not eat in bed.
