Bleach sometimes helps, but the clothes tend to age quicker and might tear easier after a while. Generally, drying them outside, so the stain is exposed to the sun, helps.
The best time to treat those invisible perspiration stains is right after you wear a garment for the first time, and before you toss it in the washer. Moisten the underarm area, or any other spot where perspiration stains are a problem, and work in a lather of Fels-Naptha Laundry Soap. Once you've worked up a good lather, toss the garment in the machine, and launder as usual. If odor is present, apply warm water to the area & work in 20 Mule Team Borax. Let sit for 30 minutes or so, then launder. You can also work Biz Activated Nonchlorine Bleach into the stained fabric, making sure to wet the offending area first. If you discover stains on a recently washed garment, try dampening the fabric with warm water & working in laundry detergent and Biz. Let that soak for about 30 minutes & launder as usual. Also try to clean existing stains with heated white vinegar. Spray it on the fabric & then work in the Borax. If the fabric has changed color from the stains, try spraying with sudsy ammonia, let it sit about 15 minutes, then launder as usual. Yellowed or discolored fabric may be damaged and might not be fixable. If you constantly have problems with perspiration stains, try switching brands of deodorant. Never wear shirts or blouses more than 1 day if you notice a perspiration stain. Wearing natural fibers, like cotton & linen, will be less of a problem than polyester. If you have a serious problem, wear underarm shields. They trap moisture before it can reach the fabric and can be removed & thrown away each day. They can't be seen through the garment. Look for them in lingerie stores and in catalogs. <*)))><
Prevention: use deodorant rather than antiperspirant (the latter is what causes the stains).
