how can you remove the smell of transmission fluid out of your car?

A whole bottle of transmission fluid spilled in car we use wet dry vac to suck out remaining fluid took it to car wash washed the inside of the trunk sucked out water put coffee grounds in trunk left it in there for 3 days then vacuumed it out but the odor is still bad even our clothes smell of it after being in the car please some one i need advice

You'll have to take the carpeting out of the trunk, and give it a really good, thorough cleaning. Lots of soap, warm water, maybe even a little bleach (but not too much), might have to do it a couple of times. Letting it air out after each cleaning. Wipe the bottom of the trunk up while the carpet's out.

Try mixing one part each: Mineral spirits, Dawn dish soap, and water. Use it in a spray bottle and scrub while vacuuming. The mineral spirits will cut the grease in the transmission fluid. My mom details cars and you would not believe what this will get out. The smell of the mineral spirits goes away and isn't a problem.
