Answers: There is no better disinfectant and deodorizer than clorox bleach. Follow the directions for the dilution of the bleach, afterwards spot test this cleaner within a small area of the wall. Maybe contained by a corner near the floor. after you dust it and it dries you will know if it will hurt the finish of the surface you want to clean. Probably not a appropriate idea on any mat, material though.
Anythign that have bleach, it disenfects toliets tubs. Have plenty of rags. Use pine sol for flooring and the sink. Comet and some scrubbies for tricky stains in the Tub and soap trash build up.
a weak bleach/water mix works all right.
a can of paint will work too.. covers up any yuck from the othere tenant and helps beside old odors.. but those could be contained by the carpet too.. and that would inevitability to be steamed.. or replaced.
