What is the best way to get rid of calicum build up on your shower head...I have tried basically everything.?

Answers:
this may smell your house up, but bring some vinegar to a boil, and drop your shower head in it. let it set until the vinegar is cool , and scrub the head good to remove any remaining calcium

Other answers:
Remove the shower head and soak it in vinegar for 30 minutes. Brush with a nail brush and the calcium deposits will come off.

You can get them now that have rubber nipples the water comes through. All you have to do is rub them and it breaks the calcium loose. They really work well.

have you taken the head off and soaked it in baking soda and vinegar overnight?
Buy a new one. sometimes the build up is inside the shower head try taking it off the frame and soaking it in lime away or something similar. I use limeaway on the bathroom tiles and it works great but as far as shower heads... cant tell you I always just buy a new one when they get nasty.
I use a product called Lime-Away. I live on Texas, so it may be a local product. We have very hard water here, and it works. I tae the shower head off and soak it in a solution of the product and water.
Your first two responders may have the best answer for how to clean up what's already there, but I've got a remedy for how to stop it from occurring in the first place. In this new house my wife and I built, we found out, after-the-fact, that this water had so much calcium in it that after you washed your car, you had a white film all over it from the calcium left behind from the water, so we talked to the builder and some neighbors, and one of them recommended a water filter system that can be easily installed. We learned about such a water filter system they sell at Home Depot, and then we got the plumber that plumbed this house to cut the pipes just outside the house and install it, and he did it in a flash, and we no longer have calcium tasting water, or white cars after we wash them, or shower heads caked with calcium. Good luck on your efforts, and God Bless you.
if it's not too bad CLR might work. I heat vinegar and soak the shower head over night.
have you tried vinagar?.......that cleans the calcium from coffee pot too.......
C.L.R.
its for calcium lime and rust. it works too..
If you don't want to take the shower head off or can't take the shower head off; fill a baggie with vinegar and rubberband it to the shower head overnight. Then in the morning take it off and clean with a toothbrush.
