Trying to find topical multisurface vacuum?

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a honest vacuum for me to get. I involve something under $100, that I can use both on my hardwood floors, and to vacuum my carpeted staircase. Also lightweight. I've researched but can't find anything I want. Any suggestions?

Answers:    Any up right vacuum will work on carpet and hardwood floors.
You may have to move a selector switch first, but at hand have be some advertised on TV that claim they can move about from carpet to any other surface and stern without making any change.
There are some uprights that have a smaller detachable section for stairs so you don't have to lug the integral thing up and down stairs.
You will own to shop around for the best price and see what is on the market.
