How would you recommend removing the stench of burning mattress from a room?

This is going to sound silly, but it has worked for me in the past, take a glass bowl and fill it with one part white * vinegar and one part water, soak disk towels in the mixture and then ring them out until it is almost dry. Now this is the part that sounds silly, go in each room and twrill them above your head for as long as you can, also put one over your vents or a circulating fan overnight if possible. Again, they should not be dripping wet when you do this.
When my great aunt told me to try this, I thought she was ready for the funny farm, but then I tried it and I have to tell you it really worked.
*One warning though, only use white vinegar. Apple Cider and the other just do not work as well, and if you don't ring your towels out good enough staining can be a problem.

I would call a pro, as the walls, drapes, carpets, furniture, everything in the room will have to be cleaned. If you are doing it yourself, I would use baking soda to clean everything, with a touch of vinegar and ammonia in the water. You may have to repaint the walls. Never smoke in bed.

you will have to repaint the room.. try using 321 killz primer to coat the room.. then finish with 2 coats of top paint..
hope everyone is ok..
Vinegar is good for removing odor. Also Sam's Wholesale carries a product called Odo-Ban or Odor -Out that will remove even the worst odors including those from household fires etc.
I would call a professional fire clean up company. You could probably find in the yellow pages.
They can "bomb" the room with a special steamer type of machine that will help get the odour out of the walls, carpet etc. Anything that can be laundered should be.
Fumigate the room with incense and burning , smoldering Lavender and Sage. Let the thick smoke hang in the room for a while. It may just do the trick. You put it all in safe containers of course , for you cant stay in that smoke.
