How do you get rid of ring around the collar?

Answers:
My husband has to wear a shirt and tie to work walking through a garage filled with running diesel trucks to get to his office. Since it is not air conditioned and the air is filled with exhaust, he gets stubborn ring around the collar. (Yes, he takes a shower & washes his neck before leaving for work!)

I read Talking Dirty with the Queen of Clean, by Linda Cobb who suggests using regular shampoo to combat ring around the collar. I was skeptical because I'd tried everything from Shout to Oxyclean to Borax to get the diesel fuel ring around the collar to come out. It really works to break down the dirt. Now I keep a cheapo bottle of shampoo or the little ones you get from the hotels in the laundry room. Sometimes I do have to use a little toothbrush, but most of the time I just squirt it on and throw it in the wash.

Have a nice day. :)
rub a little toothpaste. wait for a minute and wash out. it'll be sparkling clean.
if it's white of course try bleach but my personal favorite is shout
Get rid of the shirt... buy new ones....and scrup your neck every day with soap and a wash cloth.
I have had good look with oxyclean spray, but if the ring is from emitted hormones, similar to those from "pit stains" than the ring will be nearly impossible to remove completely. If you must keep the shirt then use it only with suit and sport coats to hide the ring as best as possble.
Spray on some SHOUT and rub it in. You can find SHOUT in many stores.
powdered tide with bleach and hot wash
I second the suggestion for using shampoo - if it'll break down the grease in the shower, it'll break down the grease in the fibres of your clothes. :)
