There are products that you can purchase to remove soot, smoke damage. Spot Shot is a good product. Remember to keep lots of baking soda opened in the cabinets to absorb the smell. It takes a long time to get rid of it.

I found, after a chimney fire, that vinegar works quite well. Soot has an oily substance in it and the vinegar cuts through that. Orange oil works well too. It just takes a little longer. Both help cut the odor. The paper, well unless it's really washable may have to be taken down. Fortunately there are easily hung papers on the market now and it will be a snap for you to do the repair work yourself.
I think you should miss a little washing powder in a cup of water and damp a piece of clean white cloth into it and rub off the dirt or grease from the wall paper .You should be careful not to rub it hard as will damage your wall paper .As for the surface of the cabinets the same remedy is enough .If you lukewarm the water it will give better results .
Cabinet magic for the cabinets. Wallpaper should be replaced. Exhaust fan if it can be taken out, it can be cleaned with a degreaser being careful not to get the motor wet.
