How do you polish marble top tables???
Answers:
Oy vey,
THe oil is doing nothing more than staining the marble.
I hope its stains uniformly for everyone. Thats a precaution you should consider.
Depending on the severity of the marble there is a very inexpensive product on the marker call "Renew" and or "Brilliance" from Aquamix.
Both of these products will treat and seal the marble correctly.Thye will also rid it of tiny surface scrathces etc.
Otherwise the next best thing is to have a Stone restorator come out and refinish it for you.(That could be costly)
In any case,I hope this info was useful to you,and good luck with the table top.

www.ehow.com can help you out, but for my marble I use olive oil sparingly, then wipe clean with a dry cloth. It shines the marble and keeps it beautiful for ages. Be sure to wipe it off very well, otherwise the oil will yellow over time. I've kept my marble beautiful for 18 years this way. (And...it's cheaper than buying special cleansers)
