How do I return with a adjectives candle wick stain out of hearth rug?

I have a black stain on mint green runner..and I am pretty sure it is a piece of candle wick that was burned down (I pinch them sour before I insubstantial the candle again so the wick doesn't smoke).

I haven't touched the "stain" yet as I am not sure what to use.

I thought I could put a piece of tabloid over it and iron the wax out of the carpet and next treat the actual black soot stain itself...but not sure. I know you can do that to get candle wax that have spilled on carpet out...be there done that.

Any suggestions? I don't want to set the black stain surrounded by the carpet by ironing it.

Answers:    I would try ironing over the spot, basically in valise it has any wax contained by it... then use oxyclean for the actual black soot.

Depending on the size of the spot and the lenght of the runner, maybe you can clip it out near scissors
