can you machine wash a teddy bear?
Answers:
Whenever I have to wash my daughter's Pooh Bear I put it in a pillow case and tie a knot. This is the safest way. Then I let it air dry. poor Pooh has been through a lot in his 7 years.

Yup..
We do put it in the dryer to (on low heat), but even if you use the dryer, let it air dry overnight
yeah you can, do it on a perm press cycle or delecate cycle with no spin or slow spin, than hang dry.
Put it in the washer by its self with some soap on gentle. Let it air dry.
Yes, I have machine washed stuffed animals before, it is more difficult to remove stains from white or light colored. So I would recommend hand washing the surface first then machine wash and don't put it in the dryer.
Most Gunds are machine washable/ gentle cycle. Checkout your Gund, as they are usually labeled well with instructions on care. DON'T PUT IN DRYER let it air dry.
You could proabably e-mail them or call them to find out for sure but my children's have been ok when I used the gentle cycle- and put the stuffed animal in a pillow case.
I think so. My daughter has a stuffed kitty that goes in the washer and dryer. Good luck and I hope your son is feeling better!
I have washed MANY stuffed animals. Be sure to put it on gentle, and make sure it is completely dry when you remove it from the dryer or it will mildew.
The dryer WILL ruin SOME fake furs (also whiskers, etc.). If you want to avoid the dryer, wait for a very hot day (or 2) and hang it outside (upside down if possible).
Yes i always put my children's teddies and stuffed toys in a pillow case first thou, but have had no problems .
yes you can but put it in a pillowcase or laundry bag, wash it on gentle cycle and dry on low heat making sure it is completely dry so it doesn't mildew.
Depends on the bear. A Gund you probably can machine wash, but why don't you try contacting the company and asking them.
Yes you can just put the bear in a pillowcase before you wash it.
