Has anyone tried using that watertank vaccum thing that was shown on t.v?
Answers:
Rainbow vacuum is probably what you are talking about. My parents bought one when we were growing up. It did seem to work well. Although back then there wasn't a bagless vacuum that let you see all the crud you got out of your carpet. So, I can't say that it works that much better than a bagless vacuum with the Hepa filters on them. I hated using it. It was a hassle to use because you had to fill up the tank when you were going to use it, and then you pull this tank around behind you while vacuuming and making sure you didn't knock it over. Then when you were done you had to empty the watertank with all the gunk in it. Not something you want to do everytime you run the vacuum. And it was expensive!

I don't know which brand this is you refer to (I'm out of the country) but I have used a Rainbow vac in the past. It sounds like the same thing- w/the water.
It was the best vac I've ever had! I wish I could get another. Cleaning the vac afterwards was yucky (we poured the muck outside), but the inside was dust& dander-free!! Great for those w/allergies, too.

That is soooo old school! My mom had one, and it worked wonderfully. The only downside is cleaning out the yucky water after, but the results are worth it.
the Rainbow vac....the only downside to owning one
is it is very heavy to move around and use...but does do a great job
If you like lifting weights you*ll love to cart this thing around.
Espcially up and down stairs. Think about it long ahd hard before you shell out good money for this tthing.
I used one in a home where the lady insisted I use hers and nearly broke my back lugging it around.
