Any body know how to stop black scum building up on the shower curtain tried washing it but still stays on?

Answers:
You probably need to scrub it down with bleach. That black stuff is mold and I think bleach is the only way to get it off. Probably be better off buying a new shower curtain. BTW, what I do is line my shower curtain with one of those cheap one dollar liners from the dollar store. When it starts getting cruddy, I get rid of it and replace it with another one dollar liner. My good shower curtain always stays clean this way. :)

use a 1/2-1/2 mixture of water and bleach ,put it in a spray bottle , spray it on and give it a minute to sit there then wipe away. Do it every time it comes back and the time it takes between reoccurances will be longer and longer
Spray Tilex daily shower cleaner each time you finish with your shower. Takes care of EVERYTHING. No need to do any other cleaning, no mold, mildew, or soap scum buildup.
If it's black scum, it sounds like it could be some sort of mould problem. Making it sure it dries out really well after each time it is used could stop it, or failing that, there are certain types of sprays you can buy which stop kill the mould (or perhaps bleach could work, depending on which type of curtain you have). But I am not really sure which chemicals they contain, I can't imagine they are all that nice, so make sure you check it out if you decide to use it.
It is likely mould & mildew...there is a cleaner for that at grocery and hardware stores...

It is probably just as cheap to buy a new shower curtain!

You need to get some ventillation in your bathroom...mould grows in the damp.
wash in white vinegar and lemon juice this should keep it at bay
After you get it clean, use some kind of spray bottle with a good size top and place between the tub and curtain to keep them from touching until dry. Moisture kills!!
buy a new shower curtain , there under 20 bucks sometimes less
you will need to buy a new one, to stop it from happening again, after use make sure you pull it again, open a window and let it dry out before pushing it back.
