How much energy does a clothes dryer use?
Answers:
any type of appliance that has a heating element in it is a great user of electricity
Other answers:
The dryer I have can do an entire load of clothes (4 pairs of jeans, 10 shirts, X socks, X undergarmets) in aorund 70 minutes.
I think if you replace the heating coil every few years it keeps the cost of energy down.
Also, it may have been a random mistake.
Sometimes I will do that. I have tossed a shirt in and put it in for the full 70 minutes and got it out 20 minutes later. Its just a matter of turning the knob, lol.
Some dryers have a "more heat" setting for one or two articles of clothing so it dries them faster without the high cost.
[On average, I think my dryer costs us $2 - $3 dollars a month if we use it once a week for large loads or for a few minutes to fluff clothes and get the wrinkles out.]
