Am I the only one? what is wrong with me?

LMAO!! You sound just like me. Who wants to clean that isn't OCD? The trick is, first of all, get into a routine. Little things like hampers will save your butt. You will have to train yourself in other things, like putting dishes away (I am the worst about that). Next, try doing little things. Looking at a trashed house is a little overwhelming, but if you say to yourself, for instance "Today I'm going to clean off that coffee table. There are things on that table older than my 3 year old", when it gets done, you will be pleased as punch with yourself and more than likely ready to do another small task, like folding or ironing laundry. Third, get organized. If everything has a place, then there is less chance of clutter. If it doesn't have a place, decide if you REALLY need it. If not, throw it out.

Seems like you are just frustrated. Try this, clean your house, perfectly, like washing walls, clean carpets, opening windows for freshness.
Everytime you have drink, wash the cup up as soon as you finish the last mouthful, same with plates.
Put clothes in basket as you take them off.
Then when you come home from work for a week, and everyday you see how clean the house is, with little maintenance, you will have a new routine!

i used to be like you untill i met my new partner he likes every thing in the right order papers filed.and when i look back it is easer naw than when i was by my self i no wear things are and it makes it easer.just think the more mess the harder it is to find the tideyer the easer
You have to make a habit out of it. Like taking a shower, most kids hate taking baths or showers, but it became a habit for them late on to do it everyday.
You could try setting a timer for twenty minutes and see how much you can clean. When I moved out of my parents house my house was always a mess so I never had people over. I cleaned for twenty minutes a day for a week and everything looks really good.
If laundry is a problem, try putting a basket in a few rooms (keeps things neat). For dishes, get one of the soap things so that you can wash a single dish quickly. If you have a dishwasher, make it a point that a dirty dish never touches the counter or sink.
Oh My God.............you're not alone! I'm the same way and am facing the same problems! Don't worry, just take it one day at a time. Everyday, clean something and pretty soon you will have a clean house. Don't try to do it all at once, that will only make you more exhausted. So start by cleaning and organizing little by little.
Same here. I get that way too. One Day at a time
I am the same, life is to short for cleaning and dusting!
I just do a little at a time but after the weekend with my son and my husband it looks like I never started. If only I could train them to pick up the things they put down.
I got a dishwasher so that I have clean dishes then you only have to empty it and put them away. It helps.
Good luck with finding a routine but remember you are not alone. It was good to hear that there is someone else like me.
It's a discipline. LIKE IT,,, rarely is the case. Like having a clean house however, should be. EVERY @ WEEKS,,,YIKES!
Keep up with it, even in a minor way, every day, then the task won't seem so daunting. Make an effort, no matter how mundane, to get into routines,,,IE: Put away clean dishes, Clean dirty dishes asap, pick up clothing left about and deal with it appropriately, DON'T collect stuff, etc etc etc

It is not a serious problem especially with to days busy schedules. Try this bit of therapeutic thought.
Think that someone famous is an expected guest but you are not sure when they will arrive. This has worked for some people. Also do a little bit every day and then you are not so overwhelmed.
You sound like a type B personality! People enjoy being around you and feel really comfortable because you are so laid back! Unfortunately, it blends into your cleaning style also! Just set your priorities according to how YOU want them. When it comes time to choose between my kids soccer game or cleaning my house, you can bet I'm at the game. Let me say, I am far from rich. Pay someone else to clean your house for a couple hours; it's $30 well spent on the joy we type B's call LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST!
OMG!! I have the same problem. I just started using this program called Flylady and my house is getting cleaner and cleaner every day! It is very easy....she teaches you habits that are so easy to follow and cleaning is starting to be FUN! Check it out at Does anyone know how to you clean marble table tops??
