To clean white leather tennis shoes take a Pure-aid (that's a generic clorox clean) eraser block and get it wet and rub off dirt. It makes them look new again.

try windex or something of the sort. just don't use bleach it- will stain them yellow.
you should take a wet white cloth and clean them with a little bit of mouthwash! It works!
Try bleaching them follow the instructions on the bottle
If you have a really new washing machine there is a slot for bleach so if you have that you can use it
If worse comes to worse throw them in the washing machine
okay. I'm being specific. I don't know how to.
I've tried to get a stain out of my white sneakers and it just won't work.
this only works on WHITE sneakers (just a reminder -- you don't want the colors on your sneakers to turn white):
put clorox (or you can use a stain remover) and water in a bucket, then use a toothbrush and scrub that mixture on your sneakers and rinse every minute or so and repeat until you see it's clean, then just rinse again to make sure all the clorox is gone and let it dry
toothpaste and bleach + water it will make them very shiny and clean
Have you ever seen that commercial on TV for "Oxyclean"? It is a oxygenating powder, which can be bought at wal mart for less than $5 in my town. I once had some grape juice in the rear seat of my car. Actually it was spilled there by the son of the previous owner. The juice had several days, weeks, months to soak, bake, dry into my seat. I had all of the stain out in 30-45 minutes. The guy on the commercial would say"Watch the stain just disappear!" and that is what happened. It really does work well and wont discolor whites no matter how strong you mix it.
Good Luck, Kennio
If you put them in the washer, remove the insole cushions if possible. I washed mine and forgot, and they shrunk to about a third of the original size. :( Are the sneakers leather, suede, nylon? Maybe try some foaming carpet cleaner and a somewhat stiff bristled brush.
Mr. Clean magic erasers! Trust me...i just did this a couple of days ago and i was shocked that my white tennis shoes came so clean...and i wore them to work and I work for an auto parts store so i had grease and black stuff all over them...you can find these "cleaning pads" (erasers) at the grocery store on the detergent/cleaning isle. Please email me and let me know if this worked for you...I will be so happy to know if it did...:)
Get an old toothbrush and clean the shoes with water and regular hand soap. Really scrub them good. If they still aren't clean, then put them in a pillow case and put them in the washing machine. It is probably best to air dry them. Hang them up on your clothes line (if it's not raining). Or just set them in the sun.
OXYCLEAN...............
It will sound crazy but baby whipes do the best.
MEAN green..... cheap too works well.
