is there any way to enjoy house cleaning?
so,does anyone have any ideas or tips to keep me motivated(other than radio)...I want to be one of those women who like to clean their house...
Answers:
hah, im happy i found your question. i am a full time housekeeper. have been for over three years. believe me when i say that sometimes the last thing i want to do when i get home is to clean my OWN house. lol. i just buckle down and see how fast i can get it done. no cutting corners. set a time limit for yourself, blast some music, and if you finish within your set time limit then go treat youself to a sweet treat. also.. just think of how nice your house will smell when you're done. or just take one room a day. do the bathrooms one day, the kitchen and living room the next and the bedrooms last. is it sad that my motivation is food?

ya hire a french maid to do it
I hate it too, but I can't afford to hire a maid. SO I do it to music, some times.
A methamphetamine habit. I have heard that it makes you want to clean your brains out. Otherwise NO I hired a maid too girl. :)
put things how you like them... buy something that makes you really happy to look at...
get a friend to hide weed in hard to find places. you have to clean to find the hidden treasure.
in every job that must be done there is an element of fun. all you do is find the fun and~snap- the jobs a game.
just think of what it looks like after and how it makes you feel when it is cleaned
yes i enjoy it very much
get stoned first. then clean while stoned and listening to the radio:)
Well music always works for me, not the radio though, theres too many commerical breaks, but i would just put on a good c.d. and strange it may sound i like to wear heels, and dress all cute, it makes it more fun I think!
If you got paid for it. That would be nice.
You look hot
I will clean while you work
You can clean you house in about three hours (I do this every week. Laundry doesn't count).
It is a game to be played and I attack it with fervor and zeal. Every place is a zone and I have to clean the zones.
You have to wait until no one else is home, then blast your music while you clean! Yeah!
Well, besides playing a CD you really like... you can try making it like a game. See if you can accomplish something in a certain amount of time (or before a song ends). I don't think housework can ever be fun, but if you try changing your perspective it can be tolerable. Say to yourself "I can't go out until this is cleaned" ~ if you have something to look forward to after the work, you don't mind it as much. Reward yourself!
well, do you feel satisfied with a job well done? That should be good motivation for you. I love the way my room looks when it is clean, which motivates me.
You can try to invite some people over...like your family, and that will force you to clean your house before they come over. It will give you a time limit and you can have a nice dinner party.
ummm.. too bad you said not radio because that's a great idea. actually you should program a big playlist of your favorite songs in your mp3 player ... or something really interesting like podcasts of your favorite topics, maybe some old radio shows. lots of house cleaning is just plain boring and listening to music/talk really helps. maybe visualize in your mind how great your house will look at the end of cleaning, or give yourself a big reward at the end of cleaning... like a movie, a special dinner out, etc. I know house cleaning takes a lot of will power but it's really worth it!!
Music works for me.
Put in a roast at the beginning of clean up time, or start some home made bread.
Dovetail.........
i really clean when im fighting with my husband. and during the time were not fighting i clean my house. my motivation i dont want to live in a nasty, dirty, pigsty. how can you invite people over when all you see is trash and junk everywhere.
We set up a weekly schedule. The house is divided into seven cleaning zones. This way everything gets cleaned each week. This way it's not so overwhelming.
Wear ankle and wrist weights and think of it as a workout. I blast music and get my exercise in at the same time. I don't mind housework, though. I find it relaxing to be able to focus on a problem or think through something while cleaning. I would never take that kind of quiet time otherwise.
I love to dance while I clean,like salsa or merenge ,I can't afford a maid and I have 2 jobs!.buena suerte.
I got a satellite radio from Sirius, and there is tons of different music on it. Plus, they have a whole lot of comedy, which is great for when I'm stuck cleaning the bathroom.
I hate cleaning too, but if u act childish, sing and dance, listen to music, and just play a cleaning game then i thing u will have fun! GAMES : try playing close basketball to color code the close. and if u be creative, then u can make up a game ur self with ur own rules.
my advice is...
a clean place is not where you are cleaning every time but the place where you clean once time & is clean more time...
then try to have your place clean hehehehe but if you really need clean ask for help of your friends & could be fun, maybe you can tell them you will have a party soon! (& do it)
I make deals with myself, such as, after 20 minutes on the computer, I have to do 15 things (pick up 5 things off the floor, wash 5 dishes and fold 5 items in the dryer.) Or, after I spend a half hour doing something I want, I have to walk through each room in the house and do one thing in each room. That way I make it into a game so the chores don't seem so big and they're broken up throughout the day.
yes....... get your girl with you
it's a great calorie burner--think of it as a time to workout!
for me, before i eat something decadent (think chocolate), i'll do some household chores. the house gets clean, and i get to eat my chocolate, too ("guilt" free:-)
here are some sites with calorie-burning charts matched to chores:
