Any ideas on how to get melted sugar off glass top stove burner?

My husband dropped a bag of sugar on my glasstop stove right after I had used the burner. It melted to the stovetop and carmelized. Any ideas how to get it off without damaging the stove permanently?

Answers:
Wow, hope you asked right away, you DO know that sugar keeps getting HOTTER and HOTTER and will damage that stove top. It's good you turned it off.

The key is to try and soak it off with a wet cloth, try overnight, and you can also get some glass-top cleaners that will remove this TOUGH stuff.

DON'T scrape and grind with pot-scrubbers, scrapers, or anything like that, you WILL damage the top.

Windex, possibly, and a lot of elbow grease.

if you got a stove top cleaner then rub it on the stove top and take a utility knife or something and scrape off the carmelized sugar.
Sugar is soluble in water, caramel..well I don't know.
It can't hurt to drip some water on a small section and wait see if it dissolves. If it does, you can just wipe it off.
Single edge razor blade and scape carefully.
