Dryer problems?

My dryer takes two cycles to dry, sometimes three, its ridiculous, what can I do to speed up the drying time or whats wrong beside it?

Answers:    Before you call a repairman, check not individual the lint trap but the dryer vent. If the dryer vent is clogged (please disconnect the dryer before checking), this may resolve the problem.

Good luck! (:

Edit: Both the chunk you take out, and where on earth lint gets trapped trailing it. By dryer vent, yes, the hose that connects to outside. (:
have you check the lint trap to clear sure it is clean and not restricting the exhaust flow. if it is not that it sounds as though the heat element have gone bad . i am assuming it is an electric dryer
