How can I get blue ink out of a polyester skirt?
Answers:
My grandmother sews a lot and she gave me cleaning instructions on a quilt that she made. Said, Dab with hairspray and use a gentle brush on it so it doesn't pill!
I guess it wouldn't hurt to use on polyester. But if you want an expert advice...call your nearest Dry Cleaner. They should be able to tell you a trick or too.
I've also recommend this book, By The Editors of Consumer Guide.. Favorite Helpful Household Hints ...576 pages of great stuff...for ink it says, "treat an ink-stained fabric by soaking it overnight in sourmilk or buttermilk. Speed the action of the milk by first rubbing salt into the stains.
Ink spots also respond to applications of lemon juice, hair spray or denatured alcohol". (whatever that is? : )
Good luck with your stain KCislandgirl!!

hair spray will do it.
hair spray will do it.
simple, just take off your skirt, unless you are underage, in which case, i'm sorry police, i'll never do it again
That is right hairspray can work. If it is very concentrated put a towel under stain and use alcohol on a cotton ball.
If your skirt is machine washable, try Simple Green. It's great--got a huge ink stain out of my daughter's blanket when I thought it was a goner! Just spray it directly onto the spot--wet it thouroughly--and wash as usual. Check for a stain when you take it out of the washer because sometimes you have to re-treat. If you dry the garment with the stain left, the heat will permanently set the stain.
