How can I wash and dry my wristband?

It would also help to know if these washing methods would fade any of the colors, make it smaller, and how to dry it instead of just letting it sit there to dry.

Answers:
Run 1/4 of a sink full of warm water with about 1/4" of a cup of laundry detergent in it. Allow the wristband to sit for a few minutes. Then scoop a clear colored cup of water out of this water and see if it is dark. This will tell you if the wristband runs. If it does not run, you can throw it in with your regular laundry at the warm/cold setting. Allow to air dry. When dry, if you find it crispy, throw it in the dryer for 10 minutes on medium/low with a sheet of fabric softener.

Wash it in a sink or bowl with a "dark colors" laundry detergent with cold water, wring it out, and squeeze it with a towel until it's partially dry and let it set.
I would say, to help set the colors FIRST to place the wrist band in cold salty water, this will also help set the colors in a pair of jeans that you do not want to fade! If you do not want the colors to fade you should probably only use a very gentle detergent or something like dishwashing liquid to HAND WASH it in ONLY cold water. Be certain to rinse all of the soap out or the wrist band may irritate your skin. ONLY COLD WATER!

If elastic is involved you must not wring it! Or put it in the sun to dry, sun rots elastic, fades colors and will lessen the life of the wrist band or other garment.

You may blot the wrist band with a towel (just lay it flat and press the towel over it to remove some of the water, but I have to tell you for this type of item air drying is about the best way after you have blotted water from it. You could place it in front of a fan to make that go faster, but I would not use the dryer on anything with elastic that I wanted to last a long time.

I do not think you should dry it stretched, but if you find that it has shrunk even though you did use COLD water, then you may want to put it on something that is about the same size as your wrist to help stretch it...you should not wear it if it is tight enough to cut off the circulation, get one that is larger. Good luck. If it's bright, ONLY COLD water, gentle soap NO wringing or stretching or heat drying.
