My husband is a mechanic.. How do I get car grease out of his jeans and shirts?
Answers:
I've tried pretty much all of this stuff. Most of it either doesn't work, or really isn't practical (things that require you to wash the washer after, or presoaking, etc. gets old when he's greasy daily). I wound up keeping his work clothes separate from his regular clothes so only a small amount of them get greasy, and wash them separately in warm water with a VERY small amount of citrus dish liquid (about 1 tablespoon) & borax powder with 2 rinses, that gets most of it out, but not all.
Other answers:
burn them. There's not a good way.

Barry Scott recommends Cillit Bang.
Get him a jumpsuit. That way his clothes don't have to suffer much...
an old trick was some ammonia in the wash machine :/ (smelly but worked) or of course use as hot as fabric will allow (rinse twice if using ammonia)
dish soap
make him go to work naked and you would not have this problem!
Lestoil, get it at Walmart
