How do you get popcorn butter (the kind the movie theater drizzles on) out of clothes?

Answers:
Before you wash it, try using a grease-cutting dishwashing liquid like Dawn on the stain. Rinse it out, and then use a laundry stain remover like Spray and Wash- it works well on oily stains. Don't dry the item until the stain is gone entirely becuase the heat from the dryer will "set" the stain- just keep treating it and washing until it's gone. Good luck!

you wash the clothes
If it won't come out using Spray N' Wash as a pre-treatment, or something similar, you will have to get the garment dry cleaned.
wash your clothes
Pretreating with spray-n-wash or shout.
I used a Shout stain stick and washed a shirt but the stain was still there. I then scrubbed it with Dawn liquid dishwashing soap and hot water and it took out the rest of the stain. You need something like that to break down the grease...
take a small amount of laundry detergent(Era) and rub directly on stains, scrub gently and wash, before drying check item, if stain is still there repeat, it really works, I do it all the time.
You need something to get at the grease.. you can try a little acetone, (dab don't pour it on) or some spray nine .. try not and wash the item till you've scrubbed at the spot. After the item is washed the stain will be set.
Very hot water and strong soap. May need several washings. (Apply water & soap & rub it hand, first. Then put it in a washer with hot water, strong soap. Dish detergent might work well - because it's made to cut grease.)
wait - DON'T DRY CLEAN - that will only set the stain!

Dry cleaning isn't really "cleaning" people -

It is oil based so you will need a de-greaser pre-wash soap. Era is good, apply a little soap directly to the stain and gently rub in with your finger - LET SIT FOR SEVERAL HOURS - then wash as normal.

Check the garment before you put it in the dryer - if the stain is still there, DO NOT DRY - dampen the area and repeat the pre-wash with a different kind of pre-wash soap and wash again. DRYING the garment will also set in the stain.

Be prepared that you may not remove the stain.
Butter is grease, and grease removes grease! Spray the stain with some WD-40, then work in some liquid dish soap, a grease cutting dish soap so no oil spot will be left behind. Set aside and launder as usual!
Make a paste with meat tenderizer and a little water.
Using an old toothbrush, scrub the stain with the paste.
You may want to allow the stain to "soak" for a while (or over night).
Launder as usual.
