Share a room and want decorate tips!?

I share a room with my sister, and I do NOT want girly colors, and I don't resembling gothic either. I approaching black and white with bright green or blue, but I don't know how to use adjectives the 'oldish' furniture we have next to the modern colors I like. Also, I don't want a room divider, because it make the room feel smaller. My sister agrees next to pretty much everything, but she needs somewhere to put adjectives her junk that she take into our room. Help, please!

Answers:    Here are some ideas:

lug the old furniture you hold and re-purpose it
if you can work a stapler....you can make it look great surrounded by no time

First things first.........you need to walk to the fabric store and find some textile that you like...dont be afraid of prints and textured cloth...........the store will have lots n lotsssss of selection....but here are some fabric choices that may work for you

~~~~~~~~~~~~Black and white fabrics~~~~~~~~
you could use black and white fabric, for the window treatments, pillows, and frills ......and use the blue/green for furniture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Blue fabrics~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you could I don`t know go beside black furniture and then use the bright blue/green beside fabrics for pillows, windowpane treatments, and accessories

completely bright blue:

If you really want to punch it up ....instead of black ( which i feel is overused surrounded by decor today).....choose chocolate brown ...which goes great beside bright blues and greens

You could then move about with sort of a innate theme such as a
Feng Shui design style. This would encorporate fun raw elements such as rocks ( river stones in a fun showy dish) , water (small table top fountain), fire (candles )

Organizational Ideas:

With two of you surrounded by the same room, you will have need of a media center. A centralized calander ...beside a bulletin board on one side and a dry erase board on the other to keep track of earth-shattering events.....also a couple of trays to keep papers that belong to respectively of you so they dont get mixed up.

Consider buying plastic stacking drawers that will any go surrounded by the closet, or next to a bed....for organize your sisters things. Also, the long flat under bed storage boxes are great for a wide-ranging variety of things.........such as shoes, extra clothes, personal items such as scrapbooks and keepsake. ( they are also very assured to slide and move when cleaning )

Use color coded hangers surrounded by the closet to seperate your clothes. Your sister may have red hanger and yours are yellow ....this will minimize war over clothing. Also, inside the closet, the small plastic stacking shelves would be great to store panties, bras, and belts. The back of the door can enjoy hooks that would be great for hanging up and storing tote stacks with fleece accessories and cosmetics.

Also, consider stacking headdress boxes .....or decorate some cardboard boxes beside fabric or do a collage on them from attractive paper ...............stack these high-ranking in a corner to store diverse items of any type or size.

Go to a discount store such as a Goodwill or Salvation Army, fleamarket, yardsale..........find some old lamp that are stainless steel frames with ancient shades on them..........spray paint shades to be the same color as your room colors................I don`t know poke holes in the shades so the oil lamp 'peeps' through the holes.......maybe even adorn the shades by gluing falsified gems or glass bead on it.

For bedding, a solid color would be best ...to keep the room from looking to 'busy'. You will own quite a few belongings within the room....the key will be to maintain it clean and organized so that you both dont become overwhelmed self in the room.

Hope this help!
You can do a duo of colors on the walls-- take your sister out and agree on two colors you both resembling that go in good health together... Room dividers would seperate the two of you too much I wouldnt suggest it. Being organized is the best way to do it! If you cant buy modern furniture what about refurbish the stuff you have very soon? Or painting it a differant color or staining to create it look new... Whatever you do, craft it convient for both of you! Good Luck!
You can still make your room modern by using the "oldish" furniture that you already enjoy. These pieces can be painted a glossy white and upholstered contained by your bright green or blue. You may even want to paint a small chair or table the green or blue. I'd hold on to all the significant items white and use the colors as accents, that mode your room will still feel enlarge.
good planning
