Why do I have to use grout between tiles? The tiles actually look better if just set side by side. Thanks.?

Answers:
you don't, side by side is a great look, make sure you use a sealer even in that tiny seam so water does not get under the tile, you can get a clear one at any home center.I install them that way all the time

Other answers:
think off all the crap that will collect there, and you'll get mildew, and moisture can get through to underneath and deteriorate the substructure.

Grout locks-in the ceramic installed and makes for a solid surface. Without grout the substrate(bottom layer) would deteriorate and cause the pretty little side by side tiles to fail.
Grout is used to protect the configuration of the tiles. Also there is the chance that they might crack if you dont use grout......
