Is this bad Feng Shui?

Having an earthy, deep, red feature wall in your living room along with accessories and rugs in similar shades. Is this bad Feng Shui?

I hear red in general is a bad colour.

Answers:
Feng Shui is WIND WATER in English.

The basic requirement of anything is that there is an easy avenue of contact between the wind and water.. It usually is applied macroscopically to a whole building or grave.. Grave location in Chinese culture is very important. So if you have a building with a big lobby with a fountain or pond in the middle and the "wind" easy access around the building, you are ok.

So your wall is probably OK, so long as it doesn't form a restriction in the "FLOW"....

If you see a building that looks nice, has a nice entrance etc then the chances are it's Fengshui is OK.. It's not that complicated an art..... It's made complicated because there is a lot of bullshit associated with it and the fact that chinese characters are not specific like english words and can be open to individuals interpretations, especially when lots of money can be made out of the client! ! seriuosly...

In Chinese culture, Red is a good colour.. It is the traditional colour for women to wear when getting married... Chances are in days gone by when virigins were more common, red was good as it didn't show the blood.. Red is a good colour..

red is a good color. you just dont want too much of it. its power and energy.
yes it is,go to your local library
If you like it, then it can't be bad, right? It's YOUR house, afterall. But saying that, if you are trying to go with energy flows, then yes, it isn't great Feng Shui. Red is a symbol of power and success, so that makes it good. BUT, Feng Shui is also about balance, so you don't want too much of anything, even a good thing. Also note that an important rule in feng shui is that you will become what you see! So you should try to look for balance.
It depends on where the red wall is, where the entrance of the room is, etc. Red is great in your fame and reputation area (fire gua). If it's in the creativity and children area, it's bad (the fire association can cause fevers in children or fights within the family.)
The proper term may be "decor" or "decorating", not "Feng Shui". Feng Shui is making things convenient to sequence in which you will use them. That is, having a cutting board next to a sink and a stove next to it because your cooking habits are cutting vegetables, rinsing them, and putting them in a pot.

Red is a great color for decorating. Enjoy your personal tastes. And if you have other things to co-ordinate with the wall, that's terrific! Don't worry.
All Feng Shui is bad. Try some actual decorating techniques, and that deep, earthy red will be just fine.
