What colors scheme should be used next to a gloomy brown?

My fiance and I have painted adjectives of the rooms in our a moment ago acquired home. For our bedroom we painted adjectives of the walls a dark (mocha) brown. My fiance loves this color but I have a sneaking suspicion that we need to blanch up the room a little. We do enjoy orange (rustic ginger color) window accent and a mocha/orange/tan bedding. I was thinking of drawing a tan border around the upper portion of the walls perchance 4" thick and applying a varnish to the ceiling. Please tolerate me know of your thoughts as to what colors may work and how to lighten up the space. Thank you, any URL's would be great as powerfully.

Answers:    i have almost the same colored walls contained by my living room and i found it a bit dark too. I put textured wallpaper on the ceiling that looked resembling tin panels and next painted it copper. looks fantastic and brightens the room immensly. works well next to browns and oranges. you can also get paintable polystyrene ceiling tiles that are much easier to install than wallpaper. they can be glue right over a popcorn ceiling easily. Just stir to ebay and search "celing tiles". I installed this sort of tile in my bathroom ceiling and painted them silver/aluminum. If you use the textured wallpaper, you will hold to first install a smooth subsurface of particle board over the popcorn for the wall daily to adhere to.
I don't know if you want to preserve the orange, because consequently I have no suggestions for you. But if you are of a mind to get rid of the ginger in the pane treatments and the bedding, then you could try combining the ominous brown with any a light green (bit close to a seafoam green) or light blue. Orange contained by my opinion will variety it look too much like it's from the 70's.
