use things you like. I do have one idea for shelve storage. buy 2 ladders[wood] any size, paint them to match your stuff. measure the inside steps then buy boards to slide between, any length you want. just put the ladders far enough apart, you can paint the shelves to fit the room colors, then when ever you see a box you like buy it, or any type of container. if the length is long and you need support, you can buy candle holders to fit between shelves, baskets hang nicely on the ladder brackets, books fit on the steps, you can use decorative magnets to hold things near the top. it's great, you can make it as long as you want and the width at the base should be no more than 3 0r 4 ft.

I suppose it depends on what your into.Im older but a kid at heart.I painted a mural of a lighthouse and ocean on one wall.( not really a painter but it looks pretty good )The opposite wall I hung a fish net across and Ive found cheap things to put in the fishnet. ie. seashells, sponges,a liscence plate from the bahamas.I bought a old looking map of the carribbean framed on corkboard and it hangs in the middle with stick pins on all the places weve been.the other two walls are dark navy blue.I found you could buy things very cheap to decorate this type of theme, be creative. I have two teens one 19 and one 16 a boy and a girl and they both love my room.of course we all love the beach in my house so maybe thats why.Now every day im here in cold chicago I have a little tropical retreat of my own.
