How would I do my room in a vintage look?

I wanted to do my room in a vintage look cause it is up an the attic and I wanted to know what kinda bedding and colors would go well with the look and theme.

Answers:
i agree with ellie its too general to just say vintage , i would go with a romanticized vintage up in the attic , white wash furniture , go to tag sales and flea markets and pick up some old dresser nightstand and brass bed frame , white wash all (white paint ) then sand some of it off for a vintage look , pick up lots of lacy doilys and handkerchiefs with printed flowers on them and make curtins kind of quilted together with them (attic windows are small ) maybe hang them by looped ribbon from the top on porcelain draw handles above the window , light bedspread flowers quilted , throw pillows light thin colored stripes maybe tan or pink , lamps ! the kind that's white glass bubble base sometimes have decorative paintings on them , clip photographs of you n friends to the shades .your going to need a big rope style throw rug the oval kind maybe a dusty blue .hang some plates in a cluster above the bed ..white baskets with blankets and magazines in ! vah lah romantic vintage remember all second hand *this is based on the idea your attic is all like raw wood walls and floor ect *

well yellowish for the walls is good. and also add wood borders around the ceiling that are stained.
Just buy some "Forest Scene" patterned wallpaper, and some velour sofas from the second hand shop. Hang up an orange, brown, and yellow painting of an owl and you've got it made!
put vintage stuff in it durr
you could paint it a bage color
and then put up some black and white pictures on the wall and stuff
it'd look cute
find what you like.. it's your room so go wild.. if you want a vintage look get some ideas from the internet about some styles and setup ideas, and of course accessories, and then transform them into something you like picking your own special colors and stuff..
enjoy
Vintage? Most people specify a time-period to go with that. Like "vintage '60s" or "vintage '70s". Vintage just means something from whatever time period it's from. It's way too general to be the entire theme of something.
Check out the latest Martha Stewart "Living" magazine. They have an article about bleaching new fabrics to give them a timeworn look. You could buy new bedding and give it a pretty faded-out look. I'd mix a few different decades so it looks like you're using items that were gathered over time.
I'm thinking there must be an old chest full of great grandmas things, bedding, curtains, linens, if not make one. old baby dolls, a couple at least up on a shelf or in a child's old rocker. lots of white Cotton and lace. then use a blue ticking quilt @ coverlet. just a blue stripe material actually. very old looking area rug, if you don't have carpet. or get a newer area rug and stain it with tea. some big fat vases with lilacs, silk will work if you mix with some silk greenery. vases should be cut glass, or white. round tables with layers of table cloths in white, lavender, and yellow. well, that's my vision of your room in the attic. have fun too.
Go to library look at vintage issues of home and garden magazine you should get some really great ideas there. Then go to thrift stores to find vintage fabrics, furniture and other accessories to make it really authentically vintage. Good Luck I'd love to c some pics. when your done!
