What is the best wood for House Windows? Resistance and beauty, not price wise. (Common wood please)?

none of it is seasoned these days, better going with plastic, i had wood fitted about 5 years ago - i can't get paint to stick on it, will be rotten soon, have to replace again

Cedar is relatively inexpensive and can be very attractive. Spruce is decent and common too but make sure it is well sealed/painted and back-primed when possible.
