Some ideas for redecorating child's room on a budget.?

My 6 year old son wants his room redecorated (it's still decorated as a baby's room) and his birthday is coming up. Any ideas on how to redo his room without spending a lot of money (say $100 or so). In middle of divorce right now and can't afford to do it right.

The things in a bedroom that majorly affect it are lighting, wall color, bedspread, curtains, flooring. If you're anywhere near an Ikea, *definitely* check it out. If not, maybe you could consider shipping (I want to paint my dressers and nightstands in my bedroom.?
