no mini vacuums or cordless
we have conceivably 15 steps on the stairs, all mat upstairs
so maybe canister but that doesn't situation

Answers: hoover fusion at walmart is the best...it's basically over $120 unless it's on sale...i've see it as low as $99...so watch for a flawless sale...other stores deal in them and they are all like peas in a pod quality...they are bagless and in recent times work great...they claim to be 33% more powerful than a dyson...
THE BEST VACUUM IS A DYSON! the rest clog, and are a waste. we bought one for 50 on craigslist, they are regularly 500. you will close up spending thousands of dollars cleaning an repairing the bissel or whatever, and, surrounded by the long run, dysons save you money.
Mine is a rigid 6.5 shop vac beside xtra long hose that will reach adjectives the way up the staircase. That article will pick up stuff you wont believe. Works great!
