Have you compared ALL your color choices surrounded by ALL lights? What looks good within the store, on a website, or in a catalog may look horrendous contained by your kitchen. Natural and artificial light can breed colors appear different, and while the beige granite may tone near white cabinets surrounded by the store, in your kitchen it might look pretty, um, stupid.

A mid-range light brown or tan or standard lamp brown floor will not show up dirt and spills as much (yes, I know you are an impeccable housekeeper, but you can't be washing your floors 24/7), as will a really depressing floor. And, consider my experience with my wishy-washy colored floors -- when the early-morning eastern sun comes in through the French doors, oh, the frown is blinding, and, the overhead lights create white glare spots on the floor, which totally disrupts the color and overall flow of the floor. Pick a mid-range color from your counter top.
Most home centers own computers where you can input your color and design choices (sure beat trying to figure it out near a couple of small samples) which should be a great help to you.
You also might want to consult an interior designer -- contained by the long run the cost could be well worth it. Many home centers hold in-house designers or can recommend one.

Personally, I resembling light colored floors contained by the kitchen because it reflects the bedside light and opens the space up. As far as the cabinet go, I would dance for maple because I like legitimate wood in the kitchen. It is smaller amount, clinical looking?
