im remoddeling a desk i got at a yard sale for my daughter shes 6 i need some cute girly ideas?

i have lots of tile but is a mosaic a good idea for a desk of so what of, i want to use glitter and pretty girl stuff any ideas or know where to find some good pictures to go by

If she's going to use the desk for writing, it might make the surface a bit hard to write on. But you could either put a plate of glass over it or do the mosaic on the sides (which I think is safer.)

I'll bet that there will be some mosaic books for ideas in your local library. You could also browse online.

Tiles might be tricky for a desk, that will make it all bumpy and hard to write on. I would go to Michaels and get paint stencils. They have lots of cute girly type stencils that you can paint on the desk and make it look cute.

Well you'll want the top of the desk to be smooth so she can write and draw with her paper and crayons,etc, so maybe not a mosaic on top. My friend made a coffee table with her kids' help, she had them stick their hands in non toxic paint and put hand prints all over it!!
They sell a think called Wallies (hope I spelled that right) They can be put on and taken off with ease. With all different designs. This way you can decorate and change it as you want. Check the web for it.
I would sand it lighly and paint or stain with a pretty "girly" color, get some stencils from your local craft store and stipple it along the side walls. If you want to utilize the tile put them on the draw fronts so that she still has an even surface to work with. Or create a mosaic on the desktop and cover with plexiglass or a thick plastic. Have fun!
I agree with the rough surface. If you have any photos of your dear one then you might want to
consider taking the photos to a photocopy store and have color copies made of her favorite pictures and
decoupage the pictures on top of the desk.
Add pretty color drawer pulls and perhaps a pink lampshade. Girly accessories and you'll have it.
