What is the best mode to remove the cement underneath tile?

We are currently removing the tile in our kitchen because we won a free unusual floor, and hope to save money but removing the old-fashioned tile first. We are getting the tile up fine but the cement underneath of it takes forever. Whats the best process to remove the cement portion?

Answers:    Why would you want to remove the concrete???? You can install wood flooring over concrete. You have to put down a vapor weir, but you do not remove the concrete slab.
