One of my topical tiles contained by the bathroom floor have a big crack. How can I fix it?
Answers: I'm going to assume that the tile was layed on a mud bed or sponsor board and your broken tile is not a sign of a bigger problem.
Obviously, you'll need to remove the broken tile. First, remove the grout from around the tile. If you don't enjoy a grinder or Dremel tool, you can get a grout cutter at Lowes or Home Depot for lately a few dollars. Before you do this, you probably want to tape around the farthest point of the surrounding good tiles to protect them from any pull.
Now you have to catch the broken tile out. Again if you have a grinder, cut an X through the broken tile to get it easier to remove. That way, you can pry the antediluvian tile out from the center as opposed to have to pry from the edge and put pressure on the obedient tiles. If you can't pry the tile from the center, you could try breaking up the tile some more so that it's easier to remove. If you have to pry it from the frame, lay something down on top of the other tiles to distribute the pressure so that you don't crack another tile but I would try to chisel it out first.
Once you seize the broken tile out, you'll want to remove as much of the old thinset as possible so that you enjoy a nice surface to work with. There's no uncomplicated way to do this...grind, nick or chisel it out. Again, just take heed that you don't hit the surrounding tiles. Once you have that, check to produce sure that there wasn't something wrong beside your backer board or doesn`t matter what you had on your sub-floor. Usually, it will be a big spot that cause the tile to hold uneven pressure. Once you hold that squared away, just replace the tile and grout duplicate way you put it down originally.
If it is a strange tile in a current tile floor, then it be installed improperly. Have whoever installed it to come hindmost and do it correctly. If you installed it yourself then pilfer it all up and horizontal the floor properly and install backerboard then reinstall adjectives tile.
