How throughly must you apply primer to cover latex red paint on a wall?
Answers: Use a good primer and have been mentioned; hold it tinted 40/50 % of new colour. It generally will still take 2 coats to receive a good finish. Also, consider sculpture the final finish coat satin, It covers more color and line defect than latex flat.
depending on how light the unmarked colour is, get your primer tinted to the spanking new paint colour, and use a really good primer, similar to "Fresh Start" from Benjamin Moore - probably one coat will be enough
Enough so you don't see the red bleeding through when it's dry.
