Are you talking more or less feces? OOH! GROSS! If you repainted the walls, then it have to be someone that lives in your house that did it, unless you frequently hold guests. Don't touch it since you are not sure what it is, but spray it with disinfectant and consequently scrub it up with a swiffer mop so you don't hold to put your hands contained by it. If you are certain that it is "dump" and you live next to a roommate and you know you didn't do it - direct piggy to the bathroom for a top to bottom cleaning and tell them they may also want to check their underpants! Totally gross and piggish!
