I live near Ottawa, Canada. I'm considering adding a second bathroom to my house in the basement, but I'm curious of what the cost for something like this may be. I've emailed a few plumbers and contractors, but I haven't gotten a reply from any of them (guess they have better things to do than take job offers?). Anyway, if you happen to live in this area, would you be able to offer a rough estimate of what the costs would be to add a completely new bathroom (there's currently no rough in). Or, recommend some good contractors or plumbers who offer free quotes?
Thanks!
Answers:
plumbers could cost around $25-$45 an hour. you need electricians to do the rough in which could cost $30-$95 an hour. then you might have to supply the material, which could bring the cost down on the contracters. then theres the power corp and the power corp inspecter which is like 50-95 an hour. then if your adding floors thats money. so itll proberly take 2 weeks from start to finish, so leave about between $2000-$4000. also be sure you get the estimates from everyone in writing and the contracts in writing. even if you changed one small thing. make sure that the plugs are gfi plugs. electricians will explain the gfi plugs. ask if the supplers provides the materials or you. good luck
