Inexpensive ideas to make a truck a home?

My husband is a trucker. I am trying to come up w/ some inexpensive, yet tasteful, ideas to make the sleeper berth more homey for him for when he is away from home. Any ideas?

Please, if you dont have an actual idea that is practical and tasteful, dont answer this. We are Christains and want to keep the ideas clean please.

Answers:
Make some pillows in a fabric HE likes. Something with his favorite truck brand, or race car driver, or what not on it. What works good for a travel pillow is using fleece on one side, and cotton on the other.

Get some of those lights that operate on batteries and stick to the walls, and put those in, as well.

Get a small container and stock it with magazines he likes once a month, so he has some new material to read when he gets a chance.

Make him a nice blanket to keep warm with at night when it's chilly out. You can make a double layer fleece blanket without sewing at all, if you don't sew.

You could take family photos and mount them on matte board or foam core board (a montage would be great) and velcro them to the back of the cab. A nice, homey fabric curtain would also be good. And don't forget scent -- how about an apple pie- or sugar cookie-scented air freshener? Oh! and a single strand of silk ivy strung across the roof! Hey, this is fun!

My husband was a trucker. I used sheets in his favorite colors. Used matching pillow cases and blanket. Do it just like you'd do the bed you share. Depending on the walls, use what ever to tack pictures of your family. On Valentine's day I put a stuffed bear with a red heart in his bunk. Leave notes under the pillow for him to find when he climbs in there.
You could quilt him a liner for his matress
I saw picture frames that recorded brief messages once
I saw one person has suggested a quilt. You can now have family pictures incorporated into the quilt. Make them recent pictures of family outings that hold fond memories to the driver. Let the driver have a bottle of your favorite perfume or cologne so they can spray the interior once in a while, this will help re-enforce the family ties. Custom made dark drapes to cover the sleeper access portal, could have pockets on the back or interior sleeper of the drapes to hold magazines or personal items, the items will be out of the way when the drapes are open plus it gives a few more hiding places for security purposes. Good Luck with your projects.
Hang some framed pictures of the family, comfy bedding and pillows, A curtain that seperates the sleeper from the driving section of the truck. Maybe instead of buying new stuff, go through your house and use things that will remind him of home b/c that is where they are from!! For example, get new throw pillows for your couch and put the old ones in his truck either as seat cushiosn or in the sleeper. Make him CDs to listen to that are of songs that he lieks or songs from your wedding day or just songs that have special meaning to the two of you... An ice chest full of snacks so he doesn't have to buy food at truckstops. Homemade rice crispy treats are waaaaaaaay better than store bought you know!
