Answers: well, you could run to a dollar store and find cheap pictures, and reframe them in better frames, and purely be creative w/ other cheap items.
Just by putting a fresh coat of pain on the wall and a investigational bright comforter (for a bedroom), or slipcover for a sofa (for livingroom) makes such a huge, immediate and economical difference.
Set fire to it and hire an interior designer out of the insurance money.
A fresh coat of paint will do wonders. Find some window panel, a rug and some new bedding too, adjectives in co-ordinating colours.

I couldn't agree more roughly speaking the fresh coat of paint. Choose a color that really represents you, since it's the only room explicitly officially yours. And if you are controlled on space getting good shelves and/or closet management tools makes the most of a small space. From my experience, I love to spend more time contained by rooms that are less cluttered and more aesthetically pleasing! :)
I own the whole house to do up and scarcely any funds to cover it and have found the best route is to do all the work myself. Decorators charge anything from lb70 per time!
I have painted the walls fairly than wallpapering. I needed to fill some small holes and cracks first, so I used plaster repair by Polycell, consequently sanded it down to a smooth finish. It's also much cheaper to use white matt wall paint (which you can wipe verbs if necessary) and mix with a colour of your choice to return with the required shade. You could get a small mixer tin contained by a darker shade and mix it near the larger white paint.

Yup, decree out for Pizza and Bring home a few KFC buckets, throw as few beer cans give or take a few the place and seal your bedroom pane shut for a month, don't pick your socks and underpants up, especially the ones with skid results in and later you should soon feel at home.....
Since space is controlled, why not use the inside of your door as a focal point - perhaps mirrored tiles on the top 1/3, and some bright color crust 'n stick panels below where on earth you can put a shadow-box or other feature...within effect, turn your side of the door into a creative wall effect..a little art gallery. You might consider putting a mirror somewhere divergent this door...will provide the illusion of more space and give an interesting effect.
Bright coverlet on bed with plenty of pillows against the wall so it will give the impression of being like a couch, day-bed or settee...near a basket of made-up flowers suspended from the ceiling over the bed... voila, instant 'landscaping'...requires only a swag-lamp hook point and a colorful yarn or rope connecting it!
Have one of your lamp capable of individual turned so the light will be focused toward the wall..the 'indirect lighting' effect lacking having to put within any more fixtures...even a gooseneck office-type table lamp can be used to worthy effect. When you're not reading, that is...of late to give you that decor moment.

Paint and plants! Choose a rich heat caramel shade of paint and accent near black and rust, red or wine with pillows, throw rugs, candles, lamp, books, pictures etc. Plants add coziness too.
switch the colour of your curtains maybe paint 1 or 2 walls a different colour. Try a untried carpet if you want to jump OTT
