Last year I visited Japan with my Japanese class and I became fasinated with the architecture and design. Just recently I have been trying to redecorate my bedroom and I am trying to bring some of the elements of Japanese design into my room but here is where my trouble begins. Basically my room is 11 x 11 with a large picture, casement window that takes up most of one wall and has a medium brown wooden trim around the door, window and bottom of the walls. I started by painting the walls a very pale sage green and the ceiling a much lighter version of that color. The bed sheets and blanket are a light tan shade and thats where I'm lost. I need window treatments (I'm trying to avoid blinds because I have already had vertical blinds and they were a pain.) I also need to find the right color for my headboard as well as find the right type of new furniture. What material and style do I use? How do I mix different types of furniture so I don't have my bedroom look like a showroom? Help!!
