Some ideas for hubby's den?
He is a huge baseball guy. I am making the room baseball theme, his favorite team is the Cubs. I am looking for some cheap ideas? I don’t really know what is in a den? Guys... what would you really want in your den?

How about a futon couch, that way you can put one of those Cubs throws/blankets on it with some throw pillows. Futons are pretty cheap and they are also comfy!! They have those baseball clocks too. You could also get one of those signed baseballs in a display case signed by players on the team! Also, I bet you can find a wall border with the Cubs theme on it to decorate and then paint the walls in solid team colors. Most dens have a tv in it too....I would look on ebay for alot of these things! I think it is so thoughtful of you to do something like this!! Your hubby is very lucky to have such a sweet wife!! the best part of a den for a man is the chair/couch, and the quality of the tv/entertainment system, so focus on those!
A comfortable recliner, surround sound (very cheap at Wal Mart). A mini fridge and maybe a microwave. If he's a Cubs fan you could put some posters up or get creative with it.
A computer desk and computer with 21 inch flat screen and broadband connection.... Must be placed so that he is always facing the door and can switch screens away from porn site whenever anyone walks in... :)

Paint in team colors.
Cover an extra roll of toilet paper with a baseball cap.
They have stencils for car windows. Put one on the mirror above the sink.
most dramatic change for least amount of $= paint. if he is a die hard fan paint the room with cubs team colors. another neat idea is a beverage fridge.
my father in law bought one for my husband and he is smitten with it. i thought it was silly but he thinks that it is the neatest thing since sliced bread. besides it frees up some of my fridge space, and we always have cold beers and soda now.
you can find them fairly inexpensive at sams club. recently i have seen them at walmart, i am not sure how the prices and quality compare. you will need to research that on your own.
If your moneys tight then dont go too far that might lead to a less appreciative response. a tv sterio dvd,he can decorate in his own time.hes a lucky guy.
Your gesture is so kind and considerate! What is your secret??? As to your question,,,,Good ideas to save money is to attend garage sales. You can find all sorts of treasure, and keep your project on budget. I recommend towels displaying the Cubs logo, and as mush in red, white and blue as you can find!

i am a painting contractor and just did a den for a pro player for the brewers and ..this was a really cool idea...have the walls faux painted ..using the tissue paper technique and use reds rusts,and a varitey of browns once it is finished it closley resembles the well worn leather of a baseball glove, then you can adorn the walls with pendants of his favorite team, if you can afford it get a 20 inch lcd flat panel t.v. and a beverage fridge,along with a comfy chair or a desk /chair combo.
